McConnell and Senate Republicans spent most of the day Monday rebutting charges of hypocrisy, given that they held up President Barack Obama’s nominee to fill Justice Antonin Scalia’s seat eight months before the 2016 election but are moving forward with Trump’s nominee less than six weeks before the 2020 election.
